Bangor/South Haven Heritage Trail

Trailhead in Lions Park

This canoe and kayak trail encompasses 20.9 miles of the south branch of the Black River, uniting the cities of in historic nature and commerce. This trail also plays home to trout and salmon that attract sportsmen and anglers to the area for fishing.

Lincoln Avenue Overlook

Located on the south bank of the Black River, this park features beautiful views of nature, including a nature trail that connects to Lions Park.

Mill Pond Park & North Bud Park

North Center Street

This roadside park has a beautiful nature trail where people can enjoy hiking and nature viewing. There are benches for resting and also a boat launch for fishermen to use.

North Street Playground (North Side Playground)

This small park on the north side of the city has a swing set and slide for children to enjoy. This park also features a Community Garden plot open for public use.

Veteran's Memorial Park

This park stands as a tribute to our local and nation's veterans. This park has a nature trail that follows Maple Creek and connects to Kiwanis Park.

Monroe Park

Corner of E Monroe Street (M43) and E. Cass Street

This mini-park on the eastern edge of Bangor acts as the formal "Gateway to the Lake" park greeting visitors heading west on M43. This park has benches and a picnic table.

Lions Park

Mill Race Road

Located along the banks of the Black River, this 5 acre park is the trailhead for the Bangor to South Haven Heritage Water Trail.

Kiwanis Park

302 Park Street

This is a 5.5 acre neighborhood park through which Maple Creek flows into the Black River. It is a great fishing spot where Salmon and Trout can be seen during their spring and fall spawning. It features a nature trail along the creek that connects to Veterans Park along M43. It features new playground equipment, a new dog park, picnic tables, and a sheltered picnic area. This park is open from 8am to 10pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day. There are also special hours from 8am to 9pm during certain times in the offseason.

Kids' Place Park

Corner of Charles Street and Maple Street

This mini-park contains playground equipment, including a wheelchair accessible swing. This park is a popular destination for children, especially due to its close proximity to our local McDonald's restaurant.

Charles Park

Corner of N Center St and East Monroe (M43)

This mini-park is well-known the historic 1925 C&O Caboose that features the City's logo on one side and a "Thank you for Visiting" message on the other, both painted by a local artist.

Mora Park

Corner of Pine Street and Center Street

Don Mora Ball Park is a 4.5 open acre neighborhood park located at the corner of Pine Street and Center Street in Bangor.
