Who We Are

Established in 1979, the Downtown Development Authority’s most well-known project was its 1993-94 Downtown Streetscape Project. It included sidewalks with brick inlays, matching planters, planting trees, decorative street lights, holiday decorations, and the establishment of the banner program. The project had a cost of $560,000.

More recently the DDA added new lighting and repaved the parking lots located off of Charles Street.

The DDA pays for snow removal each winter, funds the downtown police bicycle patrol in the summer and keeps the planter boxes decorated for the season.

The DDA meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at City Hall.
